Volunteering opportunities with Sheffield Climate Alliance

Sheffield Climate Alliance  is a thriving, lively, volunteer-led organisation which is well-respected both regionally and nationally. There are many activities that volunteers can help us with. Read on to find out how:

  • You may be new to climate campaigning, but we think you have skills that can help us!
  • We have daytime work sessions on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month, which focus on communicating with members. Can you join us to help update our website, Twitter or Facebook, and manage our member database? If you like drafting event publicity and designing posters, that really helps us too.
  •  We have a presence at many community and campaign events – can you help us with running a stall at a Festival or meeting?
  • Would you like to help with surveys and petitions? For example, we joined Frack-Free South Yorkshire to help with the door to door survey in Bassetlaw building local awareness and resistance to fracking. And we surveyed 70 people at festivals this summer to find out what they thought of our ideas for Climate Jobs in Sheffield.
  • You are welcome to get involved in letter-writing – both to the media and to politicians. We have a friendly and supportive group who can help you get involved.
  • We welcome new faces on our committee and at our planning meetings – why not come along to our monthly meeting and meet the team?

If you would like to be part of our growing network of active volunteers please add your name to our mailing list and drop us a line to say hello.
