Main meeting 17 March cancelled
The SCA main meeting tomorrow night Tuesday 17 March is cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the time of writing this post the government has not declared a lockdown but it looks likely that public meetings will be banned in the foreseeable future. We may have to organise ourselves differently from normal, but will continue to campaign. If you want to find out how to get involved, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
As with the Climate Crisis, this is a time to hold onto both the science and to our humanity. At a time of uncertainty and anxiety people will try to fill the gaps. Information from the Chief Scientific Officer and the Chief Medical Officer will be reliable. Please look after yourselves and others by following NHS advice and Government guidelines, which are based on their advice. I learned many things from my own recent experience of serious trauma: how amazing our NHS is, how kind people can be, how a phone call can break the loneliness and isolation. Living hopefully is not about denying our fears but embodying our values.
Yours in hope and solidarity
