‘Buried Sunshine’ theatre and music event

Please purchase tickets from Tickets for Good.

A fundraising evening of theatre and music, co-organised with Sheffield Anarchist Bookfair and featuring a one-woman theatre show ‘Buried Sunshine’ about coal mining in Colombia. This dramatic tale of coal, courage and criminals takes the form of 4 linked monologues. It has been performed elsewhere to great acclaim, by Scarlet of Coal Action Network, including actually inside Britain’s largest opencast coal mine!

There will be a performance by Sheffield Socialist Choir to kick off the evening and some additional acoustic music at the end (watch for announcements). Meanwhile there will be a bar with alcoholic and other drinks, and tasty cakes and snacks to buy.

This is part of SCA’s contribution to Global Divestment Day, 5-13 May 2017. We are campaigning for our local South Yorkshire Pension Fund to withdraw its investments in BHP Billiton, one of the companies behind the massive Cerrejon opencast mine in Colombia. Join our petition here if your pension is with SYPA.

Please book a ticket, invite your friends, and donate generously!
