Nuclear Power; Dangerous and Unnecessary

Organised by Sheffield Creative Action for Peace and Yorkshire CND, this is a free evening of discussion with personal testimony from a refugee of the Fukushina nuclear disaster on the continued problems for the local population. There will also be a Physics Professor from Imperial College explaining why nuclear power is not the answer to providing energy security or tackling climate change. Chaired by Dr Jillian Creasey, MEDACT. All are welcome to attend.

Professor Keith Barnham – Emeritus Professor of Physics at Imperial College London, Prof Barnham has been a vocal critic of Hinkley C and other nuclear projects. He is author of ‘The Burning Answer: A User’s Guide to Solar Revolution’.

Mitsuko Sonoda – Living with her 8 year-old son at the time of the nuclear disaster, Ms Sonoda has written extensively of the continued problems of the nuclear clean-up and the lack of government transparency.
