Sheffield City Council Elections Environment Hustings:  How green is the future for Sheffield?

Globally, we need to address the climate and nature emergency – what part is Sheffield going to play in this?

On May 6th you get the chance to vote in local elections for the party and candidate who you think will do the best for Sheffield.

Read on to find out more about how you can get involved, meet some of your local candidates and ask questions about their climate policies.

Do you want to hold the council candidates to account for the actions they will take if elected? Do you want to know how they will act on issues such as those concerning Clean Air, Green Jobs, Active Travel, Nature Recovery, Green Energy, Waste & Recycling, Public Transport, the 2030 Net Zero target – and other issues on an environmental theme?

A set of six online hustings are being held across the city from April 17th – 23rd . Each party standing for election in the area has nominated a local candidate to represent their views and their approaches to meeting the climate and nature emergencies. You will have the opportunity to suggest your own question related to any of the key environmental issues as they affect Sheffield.

Ideally, sign up to the hustings event for your area – though if this isn’t convenient you are welcome to attend another.
